Product story

Description

A large baroque pearl fills the top of this statement ring, white with an iridescent sheen and a rippled, uneven surface. It is held in a loose cage of gold-plated silver wire, drawn around the pearl in curls, loops and swirls that end in small round beads, so each side of the setting looks different. Above it, a single emerald-cut blue topaz sits in a closed gold bezel: a crisp rectangle laid over the soft folds of the pearl. A free-drawn swirl setting around an organic pearl, with one geometric stone at the top, is the design of this baroque pearl ring.

Both stones are natural and untreated. A baroque pearl grows in its own irregular shape, so the pearl in each ring has its own folds and outline, and the light runs over it in pink, silver and blue as the hand moves. The topaz is step cut into a rectangle with clipped corners, and its cool blue is the only color in the piece besides white and gold. In this pearl and blue topaz ring the pearl is the body of the piece and the topaz its accent.

We make the ring by hand in our workshop in Türkiye from 925 sterling silver, then plate it in yellow gold and polish it. It weighs 20.1 grams, which makes it a chunky pearl cocktail ring with real weight on the finger. On the hand the pearl covers the full width of the finger, and the band below it is twisted like a rope all the way round.

Pearl is the June birthstone, and topaz is the birthstone of November; blue topaz is also given for December. That makes this a June and November birthstone ring in one piece, or a birthday gift for her with her own stone at its center.

The ring is made in US sizes 3 to 11.5, including half sizes. Pearl is much softer than topaz, so put the ring on after perfume, hairspray and lotion, wipe the pearl and the gold plating with a soft dry cloth, and keep it apart from other jewelry so the pearl’s surface stays smooth.

Made by hand for you, just like the piece in the photos: the same design, metal, stones and weight. An uncut stone, baroque pearl or coral branch is matched by weight, so its shape is its own. Details →
