Description
A round, colorless zircon stands in four square-tipped prongs at the center of a flat silver disc, lifted a little above the metal so light reaches the stone from the sides. The disc has a brushed, matte finish. One part of it is cut free and curls around the stone like the first turn of a spiral, and the end of that curl drops over the rim to meet the band. A moving line inside a strict circle is the idea of this designer solitaire ring, and it turns a single stone on a plate into a small sculptural ring.
The band is an openwork lattice of uneven triangles, polished bright. From above the ring is soft and matte; from the side it shows sharp, shiny geometry, like a light steel truss. That contrast of textures gives this geometric ring an architectural look, and the polished prongs pick up the shine of the band against the brushed top.
The stone is a synthetic zircon, a lab-created gemstone grown rather than mined. It is a round brilliant cut, clear as the stones sold as white zircon, and its facets throw white sparkle across the matte silver around it. Zircon is fairly hard, but faceted edges can chip from a sharp knock, so the ring is best taken off for sport and heavy work.
Zircon is one of the December birthstones. The shade most people link to the month is blue, and this one is colorless, so as a December birthstone ring it marks the month by the stone itself rather than by its color: a birthday ring for a girlfriend or wife born in December, or a Christmas gift.
We cast the ring in 925 sterling silver in our workshop in Türkiye and finish it by hand, brushing the disc and polishing the prongs and lattice. It weighs 4.2 grams and is made in US sizes 3 to 11.5. On the hand the disc lies flat across the top of the finger with the stone at its center, a contemporary silver ring for women who like one clear accent in a clean modern shape, worn as a fashion ring rather than kept for occasions.
Made by hand for you, just like the piece in the photos: the same design, metal, stones and weight. An uncut stone, baroque pearl or coral branch is matched by weight, so its shape is its own. Details →
