A large faceted citrine hangs in each of these drop earrings, held not by prongs in a plain setting but by a sculpted frame of gold-plated sterling silver. Two curved sides rise around the stone from left and right, close over its edges like a husk, and meet again in a point beneath it. Above the citrine the metal gathers into a hammered crest that folds upward in sharp tips, like a tongue of flame. These are handmade earrings: we make them in our workshop in Türkiye from 925 sterling silver and then plate them in gold, so they wear the warm tone of gold over a silver body. The sides of the frame are matte, with a fine grained texture, the crest is hammered, and the rims and prongs are polished bright. A 925 mark is stamped on the back of each earring. The pair weighs about 12 grams in all.
